You put forth an entertaining story I know people of all ages will enjoy and be moved by … I was completely “into” the story as well as anticipating what might happen, what I wanted to happen, and still being pleasantly surprised at what did.

Brooke Robison's fiction captures the dark intensity of being young, sensitive, and surrounded by troubling realities. It's also extremely funny. This is the kind of young adult writing the world needs right now.

BIO

Brooke Michelle Robison was the third of five children to Susan and Neal Robison, the best parents ever. Though she moved around the country during her babyhood, the Robison family ultimately settled in Layton, UT, where Brooke was raised.

Brooke had a successful career in professional theater as a child, playing every role from Little Orphan Annie to Helen Keller. Throughout her childhood she shared the stage with show-biz greats like Robert Redford, Christopher Lloyd, Mackenzie Phillips, and more.

As Brooke grew older, she found that she had a passion for service and helping others. She developed a program called “Toys for Teens” after noticing that most of the gifts at the Toys for Tots distribution center were for small children. Brooke believes everyone deserves to be a kid at least one day a year, and she raised thousands of dollars worth of donations to fill the need she saw in her community. Brooke was also the co-founder of Astrotots, which her younger sister Becca founded when she was just eleven. Becca had been laughed at by neighborhood girls after she had expressed her desire to become an astronaut. They said it was a “boys’ job.” Brooke and Becca set out to change this perception by providing math and science day camps to girls ages 4–10 all over the country and abroad. Brooke also sat on the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, and was responsible for helping the company donate ten million dollars to service learning projects over two years.

In college, Brooke had a hard time finding a path. She graduated with four different majors: Music (cello), History, Anthropology, and Philosophy. After completing her Master of Arts in Teaching Music, Brooke taught music in the classroom setting: orchestra, jazz band, and everything in between. She has classroom experience with grades 5–12.

Brooke lives in Southern Oregon with her amazing husband K. Silem Mohammad and their two silly kitty cats Coleman and Abednego.
